Bed panel replacement

I want to replace the short-bed exterior panels on my 1980 F100. I've got the panels I need from a 1980-86 longbed and think I can get them to fit on my 1992 shortbed if they're cut to the proper length with a notch cut near the edge of the box at the head of the box. The cut would run up the side of the panel and then notch rearward of the stake hole. I will also have to reshape the wheelhouse to match the '80-86 fender opening. I know I'm in for a lot of work using spot weld cutters to remove the existing panels.

What I need to know is: where are the other welds aside from those at the end of the panel by the tail-lights and how is the wheelhouse attached to the inside of the fender panel?

Im no expert but i think the only welds are spot welds. I remember watching a episode of gears ill see if i can find a link but they replaced a bedside and a bronco side panel.

There are spot welds everywhere. Have to set the whole bed back to get at the ones on the bulkhead, front panel. The wheel opening has spot welds, and there are welds across the inner lip or the bed cap. Lots of drilling, good luck.
