hey guys! its 68 and sunny...hopefully it will dry up the mud pit around the barn so i can empty the race trailer of all my belongings, and make the trailer available for a possible ride up to monson.
neat. just drove by there yesterday during work, wondered what they did
tire cupping/wearing on the inside, was that just from my bad ball joints, or could something else be worn too causing that wear? i dont want to spend $1000+ on tires and have them wear weird again

Shocks! If the front end is tight and aligned, worn shocks can cause cupping and uneven wear.
that could be it, i think they are the original, black shocks lol... have rancho 7000s saved in my amazon wish list
havent checked anything else though, tie rods didnt have any play but i didnt test too hard. dont have any problems with wandering/poor handling/etc. actually drives great, cant wait to just get new tires on it so i can hear myself think on the highway. thats not always a good thing either though

You are having an alignment done with the tires, right? Part of an alignment is pushing, pulling, and prying on various parts of the suspension to ensure the front end is tight.
forgot about that, so, yes. when i had an alignment done on my old truck after $1300 worth of cooper STTs, they (tires international ) wouldnt do it because my ball joints were so bad
I don't know. It felt pretty good for the first few miles then it started shaking again. Not sure if it was the road or not, but I need to put some more miles on it before I can say one way or the other. It does feel smoother to me, but perhaps that's just the lighter wallet.

the aggressive lugged mud terrain tires will always wear irregularly, the 2011 has really bad cupping on the fronts. its a product of harmonics.
i would still replace shocks because i think they are originals, however i dont think thats the cause of the irregular wear. unless you plan on burying it in the mud i would go back to the tires you got for the blue truck.

is it shaking (low frequency) or vibrating? if its shaking while cruising its not the driveshaft, and they should know that. a worn or tight slip joint will make it vibrate just like a bad ujoint or out of balance shaft.

Which ones, the S/T maxx? I like those but they don't make them in many sizes. I think I am going to go with toyo MTs, they seem to get alot of miles out of them
And yes, definitely doing shocks soon after I put new springs in the front
