Timing Cover Alignment

In the dismantling of the motor I am building the timing cover alignment pins have been misplaced. Does anyone have the specs on size and length so I can make some new ones at work or a good source for new ones? I have pretty good access to CNC machines and high precision pins and the like.

You can measure the ID of the holes in the timing cover for the OD of the spacer. I think you can probably turn that on a lathe; cut the outside diameter to just over your measurement, then test-fit into the hole in the cover, and cut down enough to prefect the fit. Then drill a hole through it large enough for the bolt to go through (5/16"?)

Also note that older engines did not have those locating dowels. You just aligned the bottom of the cover with the block skirt/pan rail.

The alignment dowels are pretty small, gonna be a bitch to make. It'd be easier to find a set off another motor or try a local engine building company for new ones. "Dorman" may make these, they make many of the small engine parts, bolts, nuts, fittings,etc. I may have a set I'll let you have, I'll try and look for tham later today.
