If it's permanent and needs to be waterproof Sealtite fittings and conduit would work. Assuming you also don't care about looks. Since it's all low voltage (if it's 12v lighting) you can use a single conduit.
The factory just ran their wires up and down the pillars, and wire tied them to the supports in the roof along the way. If it's a utility van they usually just left them exposed(they are wrapped in tape though) or if the van has a headliner it covers it all up when it's in place.
Through roof skin to outside top roof. I'm in Florida, rain. The E250 2008 carries a roof rack-QuicknEasy with kayak/platform....relatively permanent.
Wires run up to the rack members and kayak.
I imagined the RV crowd had evolved a superduper fixture given the $$$ but discovered nothing but yakyak. There's a humorous epoxy distributor's rep...DICOR... writes in 'drill hole run wire SPREAD DICOR N URDONE.'.
What are the wires through the roof for? Most of the time the object that needs the electric has a rubber base, and this covers and seals the hole that you make, like most roof lights, remote spotlights, etc.
You said in the start of this thread it's for TV and other stuff. Are these things going to be in the van and you are running the wiring outside and then back inside? Or this stuff is going to something outside and it will stay outside.
THANKS Franklin 2. Searched Sealtite finding an overload of info then asked McMaster Carr who showed a HD steel 90 fixture with flexible metal conduit for epoxy sealup, in various sizes.
I believe all roof holes leak.
The Sealtight looks better with two fender washers either side roof. The larger sizes will accept 10 wires. The TV flows over a radio transmitter.
A RV park is across the street. Woman shouted over, "when you design one. we'll buy it." No Dicor ?
Since electrical code calls for it in wet environments for commercial wiring I think Sealtite will do the trick for you. Anacondasealtite
Because of the flexibility of the thin sheet metal fender washers are probably a good idea, to stabilize the area around the hole.
