As the title says, I bought a set of these coils and they don't fit. They are hitting the knuckle. Is this because I'm 2wd? I have a 1995 f-150 sc 2wd. It's currently apart and I'm stuck right now.
Is it because the springs are too tall? they are probably the correct springs you may need a spring compressor
Have you tried jacking up the frame of the truck and letting the I beams sag down for more play?
They are too fat at the bottom and they are rubbing on the knuckle. I'm sure I could make it fit but I'm worried that it will make a ton of noise and bang on the knuckle. Is the 4wd knuckle different? i would assume it would be I just don't have my 4wd donor truck here with me right now to compare. Have you installed them on your truck?
It is rubbing were the red circle is and they look about that dia minus the crazy length of those. They are wider than the stock old coils I just pulled off by a bit and they have 2 extra coils. The box says moog c844 right on the side and they weren't opened when I bought them yesterday.

I remember mine being a bit wider than the stock ones too where it was seated at the bottom, does the retaining plate at the bottom and the retaining clip at the top fit okay on the spring?
Im pretty sure its rubbing because you'll need an alignment afterwards where the mechanic will properly adjust the steering knuckle. When you drop the vehicle back on its tires look at tires from the front do they sit like this /----\ or \----/ chime in when your done.. go for quick ride around block to see how things are.
Ok will do. I've been at this all day and I've already done the ball joints and tie rods. I also spent god knows how long on the stupid radius arm bushings (adjustable) seeing how they were all riveted in and I had to go buy bolts to replace them. Thank god for good music and beer to keep you going.
Ok so I just got back from the frame rack and all seems to be good. I will upload a picture of the bottom of the spring to show how close it is. The passenger side was rubbing on the drive there but now the alignment is done there is a bit of a gap. They said they couldn't get the alignment perfect but I do have negative camber which is good. My tires now sit pretty straight up and down with negative 2 degrees.
I gotta say that the ride isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I thought these heavy springs would be very harsh but they aren't bad at all. The new shocks helped I guess.
I ran into that exact same problem using the the CC844s springs. (The s is for severe duty) The CC844 springs have a 1557 load rate while the CC844s springs have a 1759 rate. The shop could not get my alignment right \ / . I'm thinking of going to the CC844 (with no s) to get the alignment correct. I did have the adjustable camber components installed but it would still not adjust correctly as they are at the end of the adjustment. Mine is a 4x4
