A while back I posted about my speedo jumping aroundabove 55 mph. I bought a new VSS at Napa, but the jump was still there above 65 mph. I lived with it for a while, then last week I bought a VSS at Ford. I found out the Napa one didn't seat all the way into the hole. That was the problem w/ the speedo jumping around still. The Ford one slipped right into the hole and seated nicely. No more speedo jump.....that just goes to show you that some parts are best from the Ford dealer....plus it helps to have a friend that works in the parts dept that gives you a price break on parts
I'm slightly clueless as what a VSS is, but at the moment my truck is having the same problem. Speedo works fine some days, other days it jumps around like crazy, or just stays pegged at 0 no matter the speed. A little more info on this? Thanks!
the VSS is the sensor (vehicle speed sensor) in the rear diff that sends the signal to the speedometer. i believe its the only electronic connector on the rear diff...
Ah, I was kinda thinking that could be the problem, but working on my second year out of country, I haven't had much time at home for wreching on the stroker. Thanks for the input!
My van has the same problem of speedo needle jumping around.
Replaced the rear VSS sensor, still the same.
Replaced the left front wheel sensor, no more jumping needle the next 4 months.
Now it's back and jumping again
Now I think I need to replace the front right wheel sensor.
I should have just replaced all 3 at the same time
Well, I was trying to go along with the Ghost Rider part.
When Maverick asks the tower if he can do a fly-by or whatever, the tower's response is, "Negative, Ghost Rider. The pattern is full."
That's where I got that from. And to be honest, I only really tacked that on because I needed 10 characters and a simple "negative" wouldn't do it, lol.
