Hey guys, I have a Derale 16749 electric fan controller set up had a fan die, went back to a old set up using a fan shroud I made and sable fans being the controller isn't set up to handle the load from these fans I want to just add relays in. Way the derale is set up to the fan is 12v. constant but the ground is also a 12v. until the switch reaches temp. then becomes a ground. I am not concerned with wiring the low side up on these fans just high side.
Leave the wiring as is to your controller. Take the wire that used to go to the fans from the controller, and hook this to the coils of the new relays. In other words pretend the new relays are the old fans.
You will then run a new heavy wire or two heavy wires from the battery to one or two fuses, and then run this heavy circuit down to the new relays, through the contacts of the relays, and then to the new larger fans.
You need some idea how much current the new fans will pull. Then you can size the new wire, the new fuse or fuses, and the relays so they will be large enough to handle it.
