Windshield Washer Pump Removal/Installation

I have tried, but can't get that tiny pump out of the radiator overflow reservoir.

First I cleaned 31 years of gunk off, then removed the retaining ring. It won't budge! I can spray wd-40 in it and runs in and out easily. I do not want to break anything.

Any suggestions?

I heated mine with a hair dryer and wd it . I took a bit , but finally broke loose .

Okay, so it just sets in very snug...

Did you have to use pliers?

I had to use pliers on mine . I also removed the whole thing from the truck to get a better hold on it . It took a couple of beers to get it done !

Haha yeah, love beer, but im only 15...

The overflow reservoir is out right now, I'm refinishing the entire engine bay while we are building the engine (outside of the truck)
