The driver side tie rod on the 77 needs replacing, it has the Y style steering where one arm goes from the steering box to passenger tire, the one for the driver side comes off that one bout half way. so when i lifted the truck it toed the tire's inward it also every time i get on it and the front end raises pulls the tire's even more in, I have the tie rod turned out as far as possible but they are still toed in, i dont car if it is exactly perfect because it dont see the hwy.
I have been searching for a longer tie rod to get them toed out so the tires dont plow so bad, Im convinced it is slowing me down and it also makes it a PITA to drive straight. anyone know who makes a extended tie rod? or a cheaper cross over type steering? the ones i have been seeing are running like 3-400 bucks and I aint shelling that out right now...
yes it is a 44, ill see just looking into some option's i just noticed that the steering bar's are both bent a little bit, gonna straighten them up for now, and reinforce them better. this will be a winter project so just trying to gather idea's. id like to have a longer tie rod for now though
