i got a stock LS unit, works about as well as an open diff.. had 14k miles on it when it was removed. email me at jetjock16(No Email Addresses In Posts!), ill get rid of it cheap.

This is speculation but informed speculation because I've seen the inside of mine.
I think they're the same. You said you wanted the carrier right? If so take the clutches and the gears out and you've got the carrier. If they're different I'd like to know how. I thought mine was an open diff contrary to what the tag said until someone pointed the poor excuse for clutches out to me.

I will sell my limited slip unit on my 350 . Its good for the street but thats all. the housing for the posi unit is not the same as the open diff housing...They are made not by ford..
I'm looking for a rear end that someone put a locker in and has an open carrier the want to part with...
