I recently purchased my 2011 F250 Powerstroke a week ago today with 87000 miles on it. the dealer assured me they did all the maintenance on the truck before i was able to drive it home. i noticed on my dash that it kept popping up i needed to change oil soon.. so i got out to investigate and realized i was about a quart low on oil so i looked around more and am seeing that i have a leak coming from the back of the engine running down to the oil pan.. i have not noticed any on on the ground at all but hopefully some of you out there can tell me if you have any idea what this leak is coming from thank you
That's not a little leak but I can't tell where the source is since it has splattered everywhere.
You need to take this to Ford for a proper diagnosis, even if you have to pay for a bit of labor.
Another option is to clean it up best you can and check it after each drive to see if you can figure out where it is coming from.
Did you buy this from a Ford dealer?
If so, I am shocked they sold it to you with a NAPA filter.
Part of a healh check would have been to change the oil.
You will get many, many opinions on this but my opinion is to stick to the Motorcraft filters, part # FL-2051.
Thank you for your post I plan on going to the dealer tomorrow. My only concern is I've heard the powertrain warranty is 5/60k Is this true because I've also heard 5/100k thanks for the help
Most dealers warranty used stuff for at least 30 days. so i would get it right in as thats not acceptable. unless you bought it as is. but it would be on your paper work.
Also, if you got it at a Ford dealer and they told you they serviced it...they are probably not telling the truth. I don't think a Ford dealer would use a Napa filter...I could be wrong though.

Well I have found a closer range to where the source of the leak is as there is a pool of oil right infront of the turbo and under it. I've been saving for a year for one of these tucks and found this one at a dodge dealer 6k under blue book and I'm realizing now why that is.
