Im looking to build a tough diff for my truck. Im getting sick of breaking weak and worn out 9" that will "just do for now". I'm wondering whats the most affordable and durable way to go. I have the carrier but need new 3:50 gears and a detroit locker. where would you guys shop to get the best bang for the buck for this build? and how much am i looking to spend?
Im honestly not hard on them at all. Spinning the 33" tires at about 15kph on an icy approach and they catch concrete is all it took. granted i do do quite a bit of offroading but the rear ends i pull out of these old trucks are SLOPPY. I don't want to switch to a 60 when i know a properly built 9" will last me.

Then you've answered your own question.... Stop using junk and build a Nine using quality components.
I have not answered my own question actually. i do believe it was where would you guys shop to buy parts that are the best bang for my buck. I admitted already that i am done using junk and now want to build a tough rear end.
