...should I use in the NP435 tranny? It looks like about 30wt oil in there now. Not sure, but I am curious what Ford recommended. Every parts store I go to says the book doesn't go back that far. It's out of a '68 or '69 F250. Also, are there synthetics I could use? If so, what do your recommend?

I just had my truck in a reputable gear shop- he said always to run 50wt oil in my np435 and dana 24 geardrive transfercase. 80w90 is to heavy in the winter around here. Also the original sticker inside the glove compartment confirmed that.
Hmmm...Ok, my climate is somewhere between Spokane and Memphis. This is actually going into a Jeep for trail use only and putting a C6 into the truck. Maybe 80W-90 would be best since it rarely gets below freezing here. Also, does anyone know the capacity of the NP435?
