well guys after a couple years with my old jeep, my dad decided that he wanted me to get something a little newer. so after a couple of weeks of looking at trucks we settled on a 95 f-150 short bed regular cab 5 speed straight 6 4x4. we went and looked at it and after a week of thinking about it we decided to get it. I like the truck but it needs some work. just a bunch of little things nothing major. im just going through it and gonna do a oil change, air filter , fuel filter you know stuff that people would normally do if they thought about it lol. so anyway it needs a key lock cylinder which I bought and need to install. the windshield wipers work but only on low and high no delay and I hear like sparking or something going on there. the lights all work but seems to be loose in the contacts, is the light switch wore out ?. more updates as I get to look at the truck more, thanks for the info guys and ill have some pics up to
Nice truck. I can't help you much I have a washer issue on my 95. My 86 Ford had headlite switch issues. I replaced the switch three times in 15 years. So you could have a bad switch.
Craig
what do you mean by connection seems loose. on my 92 if you have to pull it out all the way and push it in a little for the interior lights to come on with the headlights.
Sounds like a bad headlight switch. If you take the switch out, look at the electrical connector. If it looks like it's been hot, replace it. That's a common problem, and new connectors are available at the auto parts stores...
CLR f-150 is my son,,we spent about an hour and ten minutes in DMV today he got the F-150 Registered this afternoon, prior to that this morning he replaced the Ignition switch, that was the source of several of the trucks electrical issues, also intalled Bosch Icon wiper blades, then he changed the oil/filter after his maiden voyage around town with his truck,,,What a Nice little truck it is,,amazing to me how the 4.9L pulls the hills around here with the 3:08 gears and the 5-speed, truck rides nice too,, we Did Good !
Well I had a good run up to my gf house truck did great just need to replace the bad radius arm bushing or should I say no bushing lol, lights worked good and had no issues heat worked pretty good and starts right up. Gonna look at the trans fluid and other stuff soon.
Well today I changed the radius arm bushings, but after taking the rest of it apart it badly needed a shock tower and a shock. After about 7 hours I got it all back together and it looks great I'll get som pics up soon it's to dark now
