Headlight interchangability

I recently asked the same type of question concerning GRILLE interchangeability.
There was a re-design somewhere along the line and I'm 100% sure that the '97 headlights WILL NOT fit the '03.......bulbs MAY BE but not the headlight housings themselves.

Someone else asked about the grill interchange so took a couple of shots of the difference in the 2000 and '03'. Grills and headlights are different in them. "03's lights extend past the hood opening. Not sure in your case but something to look at.

2001 got a facelift. 2004 got another facelift.
Headlights and corners will interchange from 01-12.
Grills will interchange from 2001-2003. Then 2004-2012.
1993 model trucks will only interchange from 93-97.
