I am putting a new carb and intake manifold onto my 300 i6 the old EGR system obviously wont fit with the new set up can it just be removed. I am in an area with no emissions testing if that helps.
Yes it can be removed. The pcv valve at the cab end of the valve cover can be switched to a single line setup, or plugged off on this motor if you're removing all EGR. You will have a blue colored (maybe different color for you) plastic vaccuum port towards the "front" or headlight side of the motor that has lines running to it. No plugging is needed just pull the lines off. The only vaccuum lines you should need are: the vaccuum advance line running from the distributor to a port at the bottom of the carb under the bowl on the driver's side (depending on year and carb you may not have vaccuum advance and your port on the carb may be in a different location). You will also have a line running from your power brake booster to a log coming out of your current intake. You definitely need that line hooked up if you want to stop. I stayed with a 1 barrel carb and intake setup off of an older year 300 and the egr plate that was between the carb and intake was replaced with a spacer plate with a vaccuum port. If you need specifics I can take pictures of my setup and post it tomorrow.
