Has anyone installed a class III Curtis (or similar) hitch on a 2011 Escape and how difficult/easy was it? Bought one and debating whether to crawl under and bolt it on myself, or pay someone with a hoist.
I put on a Hidden Hitch. Very Easy... Didnt even have to jack it up.
I'm not that nimble anymore, so I drove mine up on ramps and did it.
Took me about 3 hours to install the hitch and the wiring harness with the power assist ,own power supply for the trailer lights. Running the wire from the tail light well to the front for the battery connection was the hardest part, and not really hard at all. On a 5 wrench scale, I give this a 2 monkey wrenches.
My driveway angles uphill to my garage... just back it to the end of the floor and do it to it. Otherwise I would have put it on ramps., I'd say it was a 3 beer job...
