Spark plugs?
I have a 1972 F-100 that I am re-building, and I'm upgrading the ignition in the process. The engine is a 302, but I doubt it is the same year as the truck, my presumptions are that it is more like a '79. I've already got a pertronix flamethrower (40,000 volt) coil, and I'm about to buy a 800 or 850 CCA battery, an electronic (solid state) voltage regulator, 60A alternator, and the Crane Cams XR-i points-to-electronic ignition conversion. My question is: what kind of spark plugs and/or wires would anyone suggest? I was first going to get 8mm wires and the Bosch Platinum +4 plugs, but I found out those plugs aren't made for my year truck, and the guy at AutoZone said that electronic ignition will require a larger gap? So I'm just not sure. I have just plain old Autolite 302 spark plugs, but I figured with the upgrade, I might as well beef up them as well.
If anyone knows anything about spark plugs, please let me know. Thanks.
