cab replacement
hey guys got a quick question. my brother was at local salvage yard today and told me they had a 97 f250 or f350 there with what appeared to be clean fenders same color as my truck. goin tomorrow morning to take a look depending on how they look may grab them and a few other pieces, my question though is in regards to the cab, i personally do not need it but i have a friend who needs one for his 85 f250 diesel. as far as i know these cabs will interchange other than the obvious differences of wiring and having to create holes for 4x4 and trans shifters but id just like to check and if all is good i may try to buy the whole truck body wise cab forward. thanks for the help

I'm sure you know this, but the difference between the 97 and 85 nose is major. besides minor details. If he doesn't mind completely changing the look of his truck, it should be fine. unless there's something I'm missing.
I would be sure to get some of these other guys input as well.

Also a thought. You will need to do some mods to the engine mounts before laying your buddies diesel in that cab. depending on whether or not the junkie truck was a diesel.

im not really trying to do his buying, as i said i need the fenders and maybe a few other pieces of the front clip. but i know he is looking for a cab so as long this cab would work it could work out well for both of us. his cab is completely SHOT, no chance of saving it, most of truck was redone probably 12 years ago or with new fenders and doors and a newer bed (87-91). however they only got as far as priming, never painted so most everything is shot again but the main issue currently is that you cant even hardly sit in truck without worrying about falling through.
