Drag Link Ball Joints.....
I have been experiencing very poor tire wear up front on my truck recently, so I rotated the tires and checked the steering components up front. I found the lower drag link tie rod end ball joint(what a mouth full) is worn out. All other joints seemed tight. I have 40k miles on this truck(2011) and I am wondering if I should order the upper drag link tie rod end as well, even though it seems tight, since I am already in there tearing it apart? What about the steering tie rod ends? They seemed rock solid...but I am curious what the life expectancy is out of these parts, as I noticed they do not hve zerk fittings to apply grease. I have a grease needle and am considering shooting some grease into the boots. What do you guys think?
Thanks,
Devon
