as often as i am having inj issues or any other issue itd be worth my while to just get the AE but i want to make sure it does this test to pinpoint a faulty injector
Yes a straight line is good. At the bottom of the screen you can disable injectors, Do that on one and watch the graph, that will show you what a bad injector looks like.

This is just AE w/ ford package or do you have a powerstroke deal too
I've been working on large diesels for a long time. I have always found the best way to do an injector cutout is when the engine is under load, it really lets the faulty injectors shine. I have used AE, strapped my truck to the large tree in my front yard, performed injector tests and found a faulty injector that has plagued three dealers and me for three weeks. Just an idea for you.

Yes when ford replaced my last 2 bad ones I talked with the tech and he said he runs it at idle, and then sets the parking brake and puts it in gear and presses the gas also.. He said that will do more than at idle alone
