Just brought my 2005 Navigator home and discovered a few unexpected "features..."
1. Rear wiper is not wiping - I don't hear the motor run when switched on, but the washer motor does work and I get fluid coming out. Not sure if they are wired on the same circuit or not.
2. Power mirrors - driver's side seems to want to angle down when the truck is unlocked, I'm assuming this is to assist with reversing. Unfortunately, the angle it ends up is useless, and it does not return to the original position. Any way to disable this function?
3. Similarly, the driver's seat powers back when the truck is shut off, but does not return (fully) to the original position. Though I did fire up the truck while it was still moving, perhaps that is the problem?
4. The door over the radio is a little warped, is there anywhere other than the dealership to get a new one? Same with the ash tray door, it has a scuff mark on it and I'd replace it if I could get a new one at a reasonable cost.
Loving the truck so far, heading out on a 2800 mile trip next week and I think it is going to be a nice ride in the 'gator!

Sounds like your mirrows and seat have memory. Might want to spend some time with the owners manual to see what defaults you can set and how to reset the memory positions to each key fob.
My 2000 model has two preset buttons on the door panel that you have to set up when you have everything where you like it(seat, brake pedal, mirrors and steering wheel).Mine just has a set button and then hit the preset button you want and it will be set.

its actually 3 both 1 & 2 pressed together act as 3
So I did figure out the seat position - it was the memory (doh!). Senior moment there...
But, the driver's mirror does not return to the "normal" position after angling down for backing. Stupid function, if you ask me, when angled down the mirror is in a position that shows exactly nothing. I'll have to see if that can be disabled.
On the wiper, I'm assuming that the motor is typically something that fails? How hard is it to replace it? Any good source for parts?
Found a new issue - it looks like the heated seats are not working, at least on the driver's side. The light on the dash comes on but I have no toasty buns even after 10 minutes. In my Expedition you could cook an egg on the seat so I'm assuming this one is kaput. The fan for the seat cooling does indeed come on when that button is pushed. Are those functions on the same fuse, or are the seats on a separate circuit?
Woke up this morning to a nearly dead battery - truck would not start. Put it on the charger and as I waited, I pow-wowed over the fence with my neighbor that has a 2005 Expy. He just went through the same thing and echoed the "look at the rear wiper" advice above. I popped the glass, finagled the motor, gave it the appropriate stern talking-to, and lo and behold the wiper started to work. No battery problems all day once that was resolved.
Oddly enough, the seat heater is working now too. Must be my mechanical voodoo skillz....
Still have one issue though - the HVAC blows through *all* vents (defrost, dash, and floor) no matter how the vents are selected on the heater. Not a huge deal so I'll worry about when it gets warmer outside
