I just installed (for the second time) a pair of new Super white neon plasma 6000k's. The drivers side keeps buring out after 50 miles of driving with the light on. Drivers side as burned out twice and both bulbs were from different manufactors.
Hmmm....are the power ratings on the bulbs the same? Factory is 55 Watts I think. I've seen some aftermarket bulbs for sale in stores that are 85 Watts or even 100 Watts. These aren't legal on the road, but some people use them anyhow because they are brighter. If you bought these kinds of bulbs, they could be drawing too much current for your electrical system, or they could be getting too hot and blowing out. Check that first.
If that turns out OK, then check to make sure you are not touching the bulbs at all during installation. Any oils you get on them from your hands (or anywhere else for that matter) can cause them to explode when they heat up.
I had a similar problem on my 89 Ranger , turns out there was a good pool of water in the headlite housing, when it sloshed, it would hit the bulb and , POOF!! Ended up drilling a tiny hole in the housing to let the water escape.
