Dexron II ?
This will probably sound like a stupid question, but I just would like to clear up any doubts in my head that stem from my lack of knowledge of transmission/ ATF compatability. Ive been researching my transmission more closely lately. My manual, (Chilton Total Car Care 87-91 models), states that Dexron II should be used. I do realize the importance of the correct transmission fluid when it comes to automatics. For a long while Ive put the Dexron III in my E40D, and Im just curious,(because I never see Dexron II in the store), what is the difference? Is the Dexron III even better than what my pub calls for in regards to my transmission? I know it sounds dumb and some of you are probably laughing, but I would really like to know the difference, and is it better to use it in a transmission that was designed when Dexron II was the stuff to have? Some kind of link or explanation or any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Chris
