Dorman up pipes

I installed a set of these on a customer vehicle the other day and have to say the fit was great. The only issue I had was the holes in the collector weren't tapped deep enough. I had to cut the bolts about 1/4" shorter. Everything else fit great and sealed up perfectly. I would suggest dry fitting everything before installation just to be sure it fits together how it is supposed to. At less than half the cost of the International pipes they are a good option.

The hardware isn't stainless, but it wasn't on the set of International pipes I installed on my truck a couple years ago either. As a matter of fact the hardware looked identical to me.

They are about 189 from Rock Auto. Look to be about 425 for the International pipes from others. These are all plus shipping.

You can buy two sets of Dormans and a lot of beer for the price of the International pipes.

Got a set of these Dorman's on mine just installed two weeks ago and all's fine so far, fitment was nice. My stockers were leaking bigtime and now I got more power and less fuel consumption.

Good to hear Mike. If these were an option when I replaced mine that's what would be on my truck as well.

Hey Mike
Did you notice any difference in quality between the IH and Dorman? I've heard that the Dormans are on the lighter side for thickness in metal.

No, not really. If, and it is a big if, there is a difference in pipe gauge it is minor, like 14 vs 16. The flanges, bellows and hardware are identical. Without comparing side by side it is hard to tell the difference. I'd say any differences aren't worth the extra $200+.

Thanks a lot Mike. I've been needing to do this on my 02, but the $400+ was a tough one to swallow...I think the Dormans might be the ticket. Heck for the price of the Dormans, I might be able to do the WW2 also at the same price as the IHs.
