Can anyone tell me the difference in the B&W hitch on 2011 and up and the 2010 and down? (B&W lists a differnt part #) I have an 03 f350SRW and I know of a basically new B&W in a 2012 that I can get dirt cheap at salvage yard I buy alot of stuff from. I did not think that part of the frame was different. Anyone know if this will work in my 2003?
My thoughts are the difference is weather or not you have factory prep. If donor truck has factory prep you might be able to use a Reese Elite install kit to use in your truck. Otherwise you start with B&W turnover ball GN kit.
What r the factory prep parts? Would I be able to remove these when I remove the B&W or are they welded or rivited in place?
Sorry I should have gone into more detail. 2011 and newer super dutys have a prep option for fifth wheels that use the Reese elite mounting style, which are four "pucks" that protrude from the floor instead of the conventional plates. Is a much cleaner look and less in the way. The factory subframe for the hitch does bolt on and you will get a gooseneck too, but I'm not sure how easy it is to retrofit onto your truck. They are a straightforward install on newer SD from what I've heard but you may have to loosen the bed. If your donor truck does not have the prep option then it is probably the older B&W number that uses their gooseneck kit to mount.
