Screw in 70's chrome lever fits a 1960 ****. At least it slides on, put some score marks on the shaft to make the **** stay on.

Dissecting the cab mounts from the big truck cab, these have a lot of extra braces compared to the f100 cab, these all have to be blasted before reassembly and will replace the aftermarket ones I installed before:

Front marker light housings installed in the tail light spot. So this is a bolt-in mod that uses stock tail lenses. 8-32 u-nuts snap into the mounting holes and long 8-32 screws hold it in place. Studs on lamp were tapped out and removed for this. Will be re-chroming these later.

Looking real good, I like your attention to detail, most guys would never even think about drilling out the spot welds and going this in depth.

By the way, later this week I might be going to check out and scavenge a mid 70's f600 and a mid 70's f700, 330 MD and 391 HD, shoot me a PM if you need anything.

I just took the time to read the whole thread, mesmerizing to say the least. I dabble a little so I know how time consuming all this is. I do have to wonder why you didn't finish the roof while the cab was on the ground, looks like it would have been a lot easier.

I needed room in the garage for the other projects. I needed to dissect the outgoing single cab for repair sections. Had to put the crew cab on the frame because of the housing association. Even though it's under major construction, it appears to be a fully operational vehicle from the street haha.

What did using the C600 steering column allow you to do. I am doing a 57 F600 and would like to improve the steering. Thanks - great thread.

The 80s column has u joints at the base (does not integrate with the old manual gear.) it has a more robust turn signal and has a hazard switch built in!! Otherwise, it's the same as the 57 column dimensionally and looks wise. I like how it came out.

Just ordered a freightliner D120SD power steering assembly....

Added vintage glass marker lights to the rear fenders
