so i was rushing to get my truck back together... drilling holes for the tranny cooler in awkward spots and the drill slipped and cut a hole right in it see what rushing gets ya? i coulda just connected the lines to the radiator and worried about it later
80 bucks is an expensive lesson learned if i cant fix this. the punctures are deep down and it's made from really thin material. i can try to TIG it but i dont know if i can get close enough.
not sure if i want to trust an epoxy like JB weld. i'd rather spend 80 bucks on a new one then have it blow when im 5 miles into the woods.
any ideas? epoxys that are really good?
i bent the fins a little bit to make the holes more accessible..
Crimp shut the damaged tubes by cutting 'em and then rolling it over like a toothpaste tube. You'll lose a little bit of efficiency but you save 80 bucks.
Same trick works on punctured radiator tubes when you're in the middle of BFE with very few options.
LOL ! I have done crazy get bys . A nail in the brake line at the wheel cyl , for a year . Hammerd and folded a front brake line to get home . Snuff in the radiator ( for 3 months ) to stop a leak . Heck my TO 20 has a ratchet strap holding the radiator core and sides together , untill the weather breaks so I can tear it down . But fix a flat in your motorcycle tube is not a good IDEA ! Ask me how I Know !

i think i am going to end up buying a new one. or what crazy says about looking in a junkyard, need to find one in ct area. just to say i tried, ill give the TIG welder a shot. i'd say its about as thick as a soda can. i'll probably end up melting the holes bigger.
i can see that thing bursting at the worst time...
lol i seen people put eggs in radiators
ive had my share of rigging things in desperate times. spark plug as a oil pan bolt,, duct taped wires, ratchet strapped leaf spring mount. not on this truck though of course
