Correct Exhaust system for replacement

I have a 1984 F150 5.8L 351 4WD 2BBL "G" VIN standard cab, extended bed 133 wheelbase truck.

I am trying to find a direct fit exhaust system (both the Y-pipe to Cat and cat back) and cannot find any manufacturers that still produce this.

I have found several for the "H" VIN 5.8L - but I suppose my question is whether I can use the "H" VIN models instead as my truck only has to pass a safety inspection (no emmisions) anymore?

I have found:
magnaflow 93306
catco 9627
Bosal 097-4008

Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

The "G" model is a 2 barrel version like you have, the "H" model is the 4 barrel version of this engine.

I see your problem, none of the "normal" stores seem to carry the y-pipe for this truck. Most local muffler shops can make a y-pipe. The one place I haven't checked is LMC truck.

The stores do carry the rest of the system though, the cat and all the piping from the cat back also including the muffler.

Thanks for the response. This may be a silly question, but if the only difference is the 4BBL carb, would the Y-pipe still fit as it just connects up to the 2 exhaust manifolds?

I am sure it would, but I would check part numbers to make sure(if you find someone who sells it).

FYI. for anyone in a similar position and cannot find the pre-cat assembly for the "G" VIN early 80's 351W, it seems that the only manufacturer that still produces the direct-fit system is CATCO - the part number is 9627. I have not got and fitted it yet - but their tech support assure me it fits both 2WD and 4Wd models!!

My muffler shop has suggested a "2-in..1-out" muffler, and will fab it all very reasonably. This I will do for my "h" code Bronco.
