Need help deciding on bucket seats.

Im currently tossed up between these 2 seats

These have no brand and im a little scared about the purchase
Mustang Style Seat - Speedway Motors, America's Oldest Speed Shop

Or

This one
Procar Rally Series 1000 Seats 80-1000-58L - SummitRacing.com

ends up being about 100 dollar difference if you include the brackets.

If i go with the mustang style ill be using the beige seats with a tan carpet and the rest of the interior is wimbledon white.

If I go with the procar seats ill be going red with the a red carpet and the rest of the interior wimbledon white.

The whole truck is being painted wimbledon white and eventually the rangoon red two tone but in reverse. Any suggestions would be appreciated and or other ideas will be taken into consideration. Also if anyone knows where I can get a better deal on the procars that would be awesome.

i would scrounge around for some og mustang buckets and recover them. then you can have the seats whatever color you want and theyll be quality seats.

64.5 to 66 lowbacks would work best probably. i have some 1970 buckets but they are high back so may be too tall.

Personally, I'd go for the Mustang Style Bucket seats...the "ProCar Rally" ones you have posted there look totally gay.
My opinion, for what it's worth.

These are 68 Mustang buckets, I removed these from a 68 F100 Ranger truck. I put these in my 64.

I like the mustang seats that Robert has in his 64 looks good. Those procar seats don't good IMO I think it's the sides that kill it for me.

Not by much. I'm hoping my new bucket seats will sit flush with the bottom of the back window. My new bucket seats are from a 65 ford f100 Ranger. They sit lwer than the 68's do. Also the mounting brackets are shorter. So I should be sit right where I want them to be.

1965/66 Rangers used 1965/66 Mustang bucket seats/seat tracks, required four special brackets (right/left, inner/outer) to raise and level them, available from FTE member Bill W.

If you lived in Antarctica, I could see that the seats would be hard to find, But you live here in CA and if you can't find any, you aren't looking very hard. I could make a coupla calls, find them in 10 minutes!

Over 1,600,000 1965/66 Mustangs were sold. The seat tracks are the same 1965/70, the bucket seats are basically the same thru 1970 (except 1969/70's with high backs).

The same bucket seats/tracks were used in 1967/70 Cougars. And...the same bucket seats were also used in 1966/77 Bronco's, but the seat tracks are different.

More 1965/70 Mustangs and 1967/70 Cougars were sold new in CA than anywhere else.

Im sorry let me correct that last statement ive found them hard to find in decent shape. Without having to replace springs and so forth also cause im currently deployed to middle east and its not easy to just pick up a phone and call john doe about his seats and hope they are what hes says when I ask my father to pick them up.

Thank you for serving. My SIL (staff sergeant USAR) is currently serving her third tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Ask your dad to call Bo @ Mustang Service Center in North Hollywood (818-765-9266), he usually has some. Bo is an ex-Ford partsguy and a 'straight shooter' won't sell you crappy seats.

If dad lives elsewhere in CA, have him call some Mustang resto shops.

The upholstery has been reproduced since the 1970's, as have the 'cushion' & 'back' kits that include the foam rubber.

Thanks ill have him give him a call and i think i may have found some on CL in the Bay Area I really like the look of the old seats and the upgrades from TMI make them everything I was looking for. Im actually looking at dark red in the sport 2 seat on their site.

Bay Area could refer to Santa Monica (where I was hatched 9/9/1944) or "Bagdad by the Bay" what San Francisco was known as for many years. In this case it's probably "The City."

I have no sources in NorCal, but you might ask dad to call NOS PARTS ONLY in San Jose (800-667-6659) and ask if they know of any 'nice users.'

Most of the Ford obsolete parts sellers have bulletin boards that customers use for 'want' and 'for sale' ads.
