VIN decode info verification

Just got my truck home last night pics soon to follow.

OK, just putting this out there for those that know better than I.
Here is what I am decoding from the plate.

F100
300 i6
made in San Jose, CA
June of 1970
Short wheelbase
Flareside
Parchment vinyl interior
4-spd syn. Warner T-18
4.09 - Ford Locking rear axle
district code - Government
order # 0187

Please feel free to correct me on what I have improperly decoded or add info I have missed.
Thanks

Warranty Plate all screwed up. Whoever stamped it at FoMoCo musta been drunk or on drugs. Not only is it the wrong shape, but rivet holes belong in the center of plate, not above center.

VIN & codes are also a mess, some have been stamped twice below the other codes.

3rd line: MAX G.V.W. LBS 5000 / CERT NET H.P. 135 / RPM 3400 / DSO 830187
Quoted to differentiate above info from below.

F10 = F100 2WD

B = 300 1V I-6.

R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant.

J35198 = 1970 (Production Date listed elsewhere).*

115" Wheelbase.

COLOR (blank - Domestic Special Order).

F100 2WD, 5,000 lbs. GVWR

3 3: 3 = Pastel Parchment Kiwi Vinyl & Pastel Parchment Diamond Basketweave Vinyl - 81A Standard Cab // 3 = Flareside Pickup.

F = Borg Warner T-18 4 Speed Manual Transmission.

H3: Ford WFF 9" Heavy Duty Rear Axle with a 9 3/8" Ring Gear / 4.09-1 / 2 Pinion Traction-Lok (Limited Slip) / 3,600 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.

5,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

135 net HP @ 3,400 RPM

830187:

83 = Purchased by US Government.

0187 = Domestic Special Order number. When these is no COLOR code, the vehicle is painted a non standard color per the original purchasers request, making the vehicle a Domestic Special Order.

* 1970: First year for the "Safety Standards Certification Label" glued to B pillar below the door latch striker plate. Has the Production Date, VIN & other misc codes printed on it.

After a certain length of time, after being exposed to water, it either fell off, or the outer layer peeled off, taking some/all of the codes along with it.

9" vs 9 3/8" = Only FIVE parts are the same: Housing gasket, pinion seal, pilot bearing retainer, one pinion bearing and cup.

EVERYTHING else is different!

Thanks for the list Bill.
I was wondering why I couldn't find a color #
Good to know about the rearend, I will keep it in mind when I go to rebuild.
I picked up the CD/DVD versions of the 64/72 master parts catalog and the 70 5 book shop manuals.
Now I just need to figure out how to find things in the parts catalog.

Text - Section 40A - Page 149 - Rear Axle Parts List #182 = Ford WFF (3-6 M)

Group numbers shown in illustrations same as basic part numbers. Text section required to get prefix & suffix.

Group/basic numbers arranged by what they apply to, for example 4000 group = rear axle. D0TZ-4209-A WFF 4.09 R&P.

The sticker is still there but is illegible. I was considering having a fresh one made.
I am also considering a Marti report. Do you think it would tell me more than the plate did?

Pass along your VIN and some bucks (the more bucks, the more info you get) to martiauto.com to get a copy of the original build sheet. - "Marti Report"

Marti will also provide the missing sticker with the codes printed on it, and the CORRECT Warranty Plate with all the codes and VIN stamped on it...comes with the rivets.

Want a copy of the original window sticker? Ask Marti...located NW of Phoenix off the Black Canyon Freeway in El Mirage, a town so small...you need a magnifying glass to find it on a map.

is it possible this tag was done this way because it was a government order vehicle?
Looks as if the tag was cut in half and only the top was left it would look like standard tag.
