302 Engine Swap
I'm doing a 302 engine swap, swapping out my current '90 302, for a '89 302. My truck is a 4x4 5spd, and the engine i'm installing came from a 4x4 automatic. I was just wondering if I will have any problems with the install since it came from an automatic, I heard somewhere that I will need to install a bushing in the center of the flywheel for my transmission input shaft? Other than that, any more info would be appreciated. Thanks

The two 302s should be the same, but you will have to install a new PILOT BEARING into the end of the crankshaft for the end of the transmissions imput shaft to ride in/on.

I'm not a 100% postitive but I believe that the automatics had a knock sensor while the manuals did not. The sensor is located behind the intake manifold on the block. The blocks that did not come with the sensor were not drilled while the block that did come with them there is a 1/2 drilled threaded hole. Just check to make sure. You can drill the hole yourself if needed.
