Would it be cheaper to shorten it or get a new one

If the ends are right, it would be cheaper to shorten it. A decent machinist can cut one end off, shorten the tube, and weld the end back on.

If the ends are rite let a drive line shop do it. It should be around 120+- to shortin and balance it

In my experience with a driveshaft shop, no they will not. You'll need to measure from the center of the front universal to the center of the rear universal, and if applicable, from the front universal to the carrier.

I don't have anything to measure with out finishing the truck I'd like to get this done so when I get to that point I can just put it in. I've gotten 1 measurement from a member but do I spend 120+ to get the work done and figure out its not right not saying he's wrong but I hate being wrong

Use a piece of string. Easier to get in there than a tape measure.

IIRC, Rodney(BlueMule) went out to measure his on his truck for you when you needed it. I'd trust his measurement, he's a valuable member. I guess you could send him a pm just to clarify since you need to make one.
