Hey all, I think it is time for a new bumper.. A lady tagged me and I'm needing to get one so next time the car can bounce off. Actually it isn't bad but I think I am going to replace it.
I have narrowed it to 3. I need opinions/support on which one.
Iron Cross Bumper grill guard combo ~$1554
Boondock combo, ~$1325
Buckstop grill combo ~$1750

Pictures would help, but clearly the Buckstop grill combo is the one you want now that you are in the diesel forum! Everything is more expensive here!!!!!
I like all of those choices. Think I like the boondocks the most for a looks/price choice. Check out bronco graveyard too. They have some nice stuff. I have this one

I appreciate the input! That is a great looking bumper, but I'm looking for a complete grill guard/bumper getup. They make a setup with a grill guard? I looked more into boondocks on the OBS fords, and they just look goofy on these trucks. Great on newer stuff but not so much on these. What do you think of Iron Bull bumpers?
I love this one! Plate Steel Winch Bumper
Are these decent quality? How do you like yours? How do they compare fit/finish/quality/ruggedness to these other brands? Because for $1K LESS you now have my attention!
Mine is the rock solid which I think bronco graveyard gets from one of their local suppliers, but it's top notch. Fits perfect, looks great. My brother bought it and I bought it from him for $300 when he sold his OBS.
I havent gotten much from bronco graveyard but my brother has spent thousands there and never had a single quality issue.
i have to chime in on this conversation - my pops bought me a 12k lb winch as a gift last year. great gift, but he didn't know that it required a new bumper for the truck - most of which were equal to or more expensive than the truck.
after shopping around online and seeing that everything was out of my price range, and after being unsuccesful at finding a used one on craiglist for about 2 months, i decided to just make one myself - out of a section of i-beam i had laying around the barn.
the image in my signature is the first bolt-up test-fit of it and it looks mighty red-neck if do say so myself. i've since 'eased' the corners by cutting the beam web and bending the front flange back on a ~60 degree angle, and also painted the whole thing black. i need to get some pics up of the current look, but keep forgetting.
next step is to make up a brush-guard and with light bar to bolt to where the shackles currently hang (not shown in picture below) and hide the exposed frame rails and body gap :-)
sorry - not much contribution to your opinions needed, but it was a pretty easy project, so if you're a DIY-er at all, i'd be happy to share some pics and procedure.
Lots of good choices out there- I guess I didn't realize all the options. I suppose you have a list of what you really want from the front bumper? Seems like you need that to wade through all the options.
OldWoodsDiesel - I was wondering when your picture would have a front bumper! redneck is best!!!!!

Ha! the bumper's been finished (painted and eased corners) since the fall, but i keep forgetting to take pictures of it, or its dark when i remember...
and, with the paint on it, you actually have to get up close to see the red-neck-ness now. not sure if that's an improvement or now.
