will this effect it?

Hello Ken,
I checked through the archives, but didnt seem to stumble upon this one. I am thinking about getting the Diablo chip for my 96 Bronco. I have a B&M Transpak installed. I see that the chip changes the firmness of shifts. Do you have any idea if this is a good or bad thing for the tranny? I dont know if its a big deal or not. Also, I have headers, high flow Y, and catback. You said that I need the custom job for the headers. If I get the MSD ignition, will that need a reprogram too? Thanks.

Bueller....... No ideas if the firmer shifts from the shift kit, and the chip would harm the truck? MSD? Oh well.

Give a guy time to answer. I do other things on the weekends besides the website!

A shift kit will require us to code the chip not to firm up shifting. Why the ignition? To advance timing? If so, then its redundant because the chip advances timing as well.

Thanks for the reply Ken. The MSD 6 advances timing? I thought it just provided more, hotter sparks. Guess I learn something every day. Does having to code the chip to not firm up shifting cost anything extra? Thanks

You didn't say which MSD ignition. They have everything from breakless conversion kits to full adjustable timing kits. If you're getting a custom kit the shift delete is not extra.

Ok, so now that you know I am talking about the MSD 6 ignition amplifier, will that effect it? That will probably be the last upgrade I do to my truck for a long time.

No, it will not effect the programming of the chip. I've got one (a freebie) I'll be installing in my new truck (ordering a truck in a month or two).
