Hey guys. I'm getting ready to order a Pioneer AVH-x1500DVD for my truck. Truck is a 2012 F250 XLT. No SYNC. No steering wheel controls. Just the basic CD player. Crutchfield s saying I need the PAC C2R-FRD1 integration harness, but it looks to me like that's to retain features I either don't care if I lose or the truck doesn't have to begin with. Is it really necessary? I'm definitely not a newb here when it comes to car audio, but I've not dealt with such new vehicle before.
Thanks for the reply. I did go ahead and use the PAC harness. It was only $50 from Crutchfield since I bought the head unit from them too. It's working just fine, but yes, it appears I could have gotten away with just a regular harness. Oh well.

Dave - the PAC C2R-FRD1 is the right unit for this truck. The regular harness will not work. With the new CAN bus trucks, you need the unit you put in.
Hey Dave,
I was contemplating on that same radio for my truck (it sounds like a clone of yours!! XLT no sync/steering wheel stereo controls lol).
I have just put some infinitis in the doors, (extended/supercab) but w/ the headunit it still sounds 'muddy'
