hi all, i have a 95 f150 xl 4x4 with 4.9l and e40d trans. it was my first truck, and i want to fix it up. it has 160k miles, but hey. its a 300 i-6. when it dies in 700k miles or so il put another i-6 in . but anyways it has some problems that i want to fix, and other things i just want to add or restore. the motor runs fine, but im in the middle of a thread right now deciding whether or not to switch to diesel oil and the trans is being redone right now. my 2 MAIN questions are this, its a long bed, with dual tanks. but it currently only has the front tank, and the wiring for the second (selector) is bad. my question is instead of putting in another tank and dealing with the wiring for the selector, is there a way just to put a bigger tank in? the current one is 16 gal i believe and it sucks. maybe a 30 gal would be good? would a bigger one just fit right in? my other question is, the back of my truck has a lift spring on top of the other springs, it sits about 3 inches higher. its a hauler, used for heavy tailors and such. the front however is not lifted. all i would like to do is level it. i was thinking of maybe doing 2 inch coil spacers? i like to offroad but nothing that would make them break hopefully. and would it be a good idea to get stiffer springs? and maybe stiffer or even 2" longer shocks? i no id have to pick up some new camber bushings and align it. but i want to no if all id need is stiffer springs or keep the ones i have, and could i keep the shocks i have. my front clip and cab is fine, but i need a new bed/ tailgate. my other question is, how big of tires could i fit on the truck after the 2 inch coil lift? i have 31x 10.5s laying around, but i also have some 32s. but id reeeally like to try and get 33s on it if at all possible, think they would fit? would i have to put wheel spacers on to if i had 33x 12.5?
