Question Warning: High Tech Computer onboard....

my '93 F250 4x4..a decal on the air intake. I'd like to find out what I have here...cleaned the dust and behold, there was this decal? I was told by many that a performance chip wasn't made for this truck, what gives?
Is there one already installed? Does anyone else have this decal on their 7.3 IDI for this year model? Is the computer located behind the dashboard? Will there be another decal on the computer?

You may have a computer upgrade to change the shifting pattern for the transmission. Thats about all the cpu is used for on that year. You may also have a trans command installed. Try to find out who owned the vehicle before you and contact them. You could remove the kick panel on the drivers side beside the emergency brake pedal and see if there are any labels on the computer box ... which i doubt.

We only have two computer controlled systems on board an IDI. The ABS and E4OD. Two too many if you ask me... But anywho... They might have had the PCM updated but I don't think that anyone would have installed a sticker on teh air cleaner. Mine was updated just before I purchased it (new tranny by Ford Stealer) and they did not install a sticker. I think the PO might have put it there as a joke since these old IDI's are mechanical.
