Something simple?

The cruise control on my '95 Aerostar EXT AWD "went south" yesterday, it had been working fine on a long trip just last weekend. I get no response whatsoever from trying to engage it. I have checked the two fuses that the owners manual refers to, they're both good, and both also have other stuff working on them. Anything simple under the hood or elsewhere I could check? Thanks all!

Thanks Pluton, but no luck, all brake lights working aok. I think I see your connection, possibly the cruise control cut-off switch in the brake light circuit, but it tests ok. Anybody else have any ideas?

Pull the steering wheel cover and check the wiring for power to the switches and continuity through the switches. The mechanical components (servo, controller, etc,) are usually fairly bulletproof and problem usually lies in an open electrical circuit. Look also at the cut-off switch located just above the brake pedal. Sometimes these little switches stick or break.
