1971 ford

I have a 71 3/4 ton ford with a 76 disc brake dana 44 front end an I can't find an axle long enough to slide my hub on and have enough room to put the snap ring on the end of the axle. Is there a different year I can find an axle that will work?

Are you prying the axle all the way out? Sometimes you have to get in by the U-joint with a big screw driver and pry it out while you put the snap ring on.

Ya I've tried that but it's still a half inch short of going all the way through the gear.
