I think that Ford makes one now, I have seen one at the Auto Show this past Saturday....I should of taken pictures of it. I think it was based of the Super Duty chassis. It had the same front grille as the new 2013 Super Duty trucks.
the E series vans are all built on the super duty chassis. I am unsure if it was offered factory with 4x4 but the conversion is very easy to do for around 2k-3k.
Quigley is the ONLY company that Ford has authorized to do 4x4 van conversions. In fact the factory warranty is still good when a conversion is completed.
Ford does NOT build a factory 4x4 E-Series. Quigly and Sportsmobile are the big aftermarket converters. You can also send it to UJOR in Carolina for ~15k.
Most companies who need a van like vehicle with 4x4 opt for an F350 chassis cab with a utility box or cargo body.
Thanks gents for the info. Do I contact a Ford dealership and have them arrange for the conversion, or is this something I do after buying on my own? Also, the Quigly site is a bit dated--they still in business?
Occasionally Quigley and Quadratrack vans show up on eBay---most sellers there are usually very motivated to sell. Might try that site too, perhaps something suitable for a bit lower price would be available.
Go on Quigley's site and search for the dealers they deal with. Then contact the Ford dealer and order it. It's pretty simple. But as was said before there are some for sale around the country.
Try FAMVANS in Santa Ana, CA they sell a lot of E-series vans and often have the 4x4 types. I lucked out and grabbed one from a Ford dealer for 18K with a whole lot of hidden goodies; mine was converted by Advanced 4WD Engineering out of Salt Lake City, UT
