92 F150 codes

Hey there, i recently purchased a 92 F150 for a deal i couild not say no too. The truck is almost flawless in body. Its only issue is the 6 mpg it is getting Its a 5.0L with a 5 speed. Code checked it yesterday and it is putting out a KOEO code of 41 (a CM code) and a KOER code of 42. According to the code defintions they are both O2 sensor related. The PO told me he put in a new o2 sensor right before i purchased it and it looks really new, i know it could be faulty. If this is the case is this another one of those buy the part from Ford parts? Or any other ideas before i start going more in depth? Thanks all.

Disconnect the 4wire plug from fender well, and disconnect the O2 sensor. Backprobe the O2 harness for open short. These are known to get really crust down below where the O2 sensor connects. Also check for blown fuse. If short is found, O2 fuse is known good and still not working, disconnect PCM and gently backprobe the Light grey/ blue stripe wire for open short. When O2 was replaced, was the PCM cleared of faults/strategies? Needs to be done to learn new sensor and develop new strategies.
