I'd like to update my dash in my 2004. I like the design of the 05-07 dash better than the 99-04 and would really like to get the integrated aux switches and brake controller too - if possible.
Right now I have an add-on looking brake controller screwed under the dash. Looks like crap. I'm assuming it's a factory add-on since it plugs into a factory looking harness under the dash. ???
Is it possible? Has anyone done it? Will the gauge cluster swap out or will I have to keep my old gauge cluster? What about the A/C vents and stereo mount?
Claims to be a 1999 with a 2006 front clip and entire dash. The dash is definitely a 2005-2007 dash panel. Cant really make out the gauge cluster in the pics though. Dont see a brake controller or aux switches at all. Ad claims it has digital A/C controller, but it looks like regular rotary controls to me.
It is possible to swap the entire dash, you can do it with all super duty Dashes from 99-13 except the cluster will not swap without extensive modification i believe. However the 99-04 cluster matches the 05-07 style dash and fits without an issue I'm not sure of 08-13 style however. If your looking mainly for the 05 aux switches you could swap out the lower dash panel like i did, i still have to wire up the switches but it looks great IMO. The whole thing costed me $300 and its even cheaper if you don't get the driver side glove box. I had looked into a dash swap before as well and i decided it was too expensive and involved, pulling in out and mounting the new one isn't hard but there is a lot of wire that is involved as all the switches change etc. I decided that one day im just going to Paint my current panels black and carbon fiber hydrodip some accent parts.
