Headlights OFF????

I just replaced my 1999 Ranger with a 2008 F-150. I hunt coyotes a lot and when I drive through a farmer's driveway back into his fields when it's dark I want my headlights OFF. With the Ranger I had total control of turning the lights off. With my F-150, even when I park and shut the engine off and the lights go off, if I open the door they all come back on. What can I do to shut the headlights OFF when I don't want them on? Thanks for any help.

what trim package do you have? my f150 (07) when i turn the lights off shut the motor off, and open the door the only lights that run on are the dome lights, but i can turn them off too. i have the XL package

You can pull the fuse for the DRL module.

My truck is an XLT. I can not turn my lights off when the ignition key is turned on. I am looking for a way to turn the headlights off while the engine is running.
