Windows 7 errors (I need help!)

I have a Sony Vaio that I had for a couple years. Worked flawlessly until today.

These error messages popped up and my screen went black and about everything I had on this computer isn't there! I don't know what to do and I ran a system check via the command prompt and it checked fine. A screen pops up called "System repair" (or something) and it ask to run. I run it and it shows a list of problems but says for me to fix it, that I have to purchase the full thing cause i have the trail version. Can anyone help me?

Here are the photos of the messages, etc.

Black screen on desktop. All of my stuff gone.

Some programs are there but shows (empty) when i click on them.

ANY IDEAS?!?!?

Well, it's either malware designed to look like something failed or, your hard drive just crashed...

Do you hear any noises, like ticking, from the hard drive?

I see you have Malwarebytes - when was the last time it was run?

I would agree to say it is either a Virus/Trojan or a hard disk failure. Considering all those error windows that popped up, it looks more like malware than anything. If you are able to run a scan with your scanner and see what it comes up with. Another thing you can try is a system restore, go to Start > Accessories > System tools > And towards the bottom you should see "System Restore".

Here are some pictures to help.

Pick a restore point closest to the day it started messing up and hit Next, then follow the directions. Hopefully that will work for you

Yeah, I restored the whole labtop last night. Took a long damn time. I lost all of my pictures and videos; though I did upload most to Photobucket before the computer crashed.

Thanks for the help guys. Maybe this will help someone in the future.

Ohh yes I know all about saving files.... I have had to format many times due to viruses and stuff when I was younger. Now I back up my entire hard drive onto an external 1TB Hard drive just incase anything happens.

If you did a system recovery then you over wrote all the files..

They can still be recovered if you want them..

For future reference...

There are some malware programs that actually set the hidden bit on all the files.. They are there but just hidden..

You need to set the option to view hidden files to see them.. Then you can change them back..

Let me know if you need help with setting it or recovering the files..

Not necessarily..

If you want to recover them...

Get Recover My Files software..

Data Recovery Software to Undelete Files; Disk recovery; Recover Deleted Files

I have used this many times to recover files deleted and even formatted..

It's only $70 and works great

Wow $70 for a recovery software?? That's crazy.. I guess if you have a ton of important things like financial info or something it might be worth it but for something like this I can't see forking out $70. Going all the way back to factory settings is a bit far but it works either way, you just lose out on more stuff. I hate doing recoveries or formatting... When I used to do it we had Windows XP and it wouldn't have all the drivers we needed for sound and video so we would have to go manually download them and install them.

You can try this software: Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File and Disk Recovery - Free Download It's free and seems to work fairly well...

It's money well spent when you need to recover your files.. It beats the thousands a recovery company would want to restore your files..

Plus you can use the software over and over again on any computer, because it runs from the disc..

Terry does that work with a formatted drive??

It doesn't specify if it does...

If I had to go as far as formatting the drive, then I wouldn't worry about losing files. Heck I've only got pictures and a few text files with lists of shows to watch or something. But if you were the head of some IT dept or something where you worked on computers daily then I could see it being very much worth it. Plus what are the chances of the virus in question attaching to the files you are bringing back and forces you back into the same corner?

I do work on PC's daily and it has been very useful over the years..

There is the possibility to bring a virus or whatever back over, but that is why I scan all the files on another computer
