What years non-fan clutch parts will work ? I noticed the water pump gaskets are the same from 65-96. Even the 1965 240 water pump gasket is the same part #.

I am not sure the years. I know on my 1980 302 they had different options for cooling. It had the super cooling package and it had the solid fan mount. I would assume they had different options on the 300 six also, so you might run into different setups, even though they are the same year truck.

Thanks. I would like as much documented info and parts cross referencing as possible on the ford 300-6. Get really annoyed that small block chevy is the only motor you can find out all the tricks on. I realize the 300 is a monster in itself. The 240 is no slouch either. Better on gas. They just said the Wash DC police had all 240-sixes in their vehicles in the mid-late sixties and never caught anyone in a high speed pursuit. But the motor for economy, had enuf pep to have fun, with a four speed. A sporty ride, just not a trophy record speed setter. So better for practicality and survival. A 350 chevy is a gas hog and I
don't want one. And sure, the 300 is tough on gas but this motor has powered dump trucks. It pulls ! Thing about the 300...you can go back to a points ignition. ( if you ever wanted to. ) Got no qualms with the 240. Would like to have a few. But I do want the option to not use a fan clutch. Am very content with the simplicity of old school.

I cant be 100% sure of this but I think the clutch fan was used on trucks that had factory AC, Non- factory AC trucks did not have the clutch fan.
Now sorry to say the AC parts truck did not have a motor so I don't know if the above is true.

But if true then I would think any of the parts from 80 up to the serp belt set up would swap.

My project 81 F100 w/300 six non-AC, has a non-clutch fan but the motor has been changed by a PO so again I don't know if the above is true.

I know that is not true for a 1980 model. Mine had factory A/C and had the solid multi-blade fan. I would bet the clutch fan was used more and more as the years went by for fuel mileage advantages as the gov got more and more stringent on mpg requirements.
