Exclamation Rust-proofing a replacement radiator support

I'm getting ready to rip out my OEM rusted radiator support & install an aftermarket LMC one. Paint job on replacement is pretty poor.
After installation, it won't show from outside the vehicle.
The radiator support sheet metal is obviously prone to severe corrosion, partly from design & partly from materials.
I want to slather on something that will greatly retard rusting, and I don't care what it looks like. I'm trying to get another 5 to 8 years out of my 2001 F150 if possible.
I live a few miles from Summit Racing. Suggestions appreciated.

I really have no idea what you can use but the first thing that comes to my mind is some thing like spray in bed liner. But at least this will give you a bump back to the top LOL.

Personally before its installed I'd use POR-15 which would be superior to the thin and suspect coating on an aftermarket body part like this.

Here's a link to some instructions, the material itself can be ordered from many online sellers: POR-15 APPLICATION

Thanks much for your tip, it is the best short summary of how to use POR-15 I have found. I believe I can just drive down to Summit Racing & pick up all those products over their counter without needing to pay for shipping.

I have that same convenience here in Columbus, Ohio----home base for Jeg's!

That link about POR-15 is great. It seems to have been written by someone whose used it successfully----I followed it to the letter and had no problems with anything. Well, if you don't count the drips in the driveway STILL there!

I need to do that to my truck too. Anyway, I have Saltwater Aquariums and a few wrought iron stands. I found out cleaning the stand down to bare metal and spraying on Rattle can bed line stops the rust cold.
