BWD Select Ignition Parts

BWD Select Ignition Parts
Well, I picked up a 1987 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat 2wd with a 302 EFI and a C6 automatic that sat for a couple years for a great price. It's time to do a tune-up on her once spring rolls around and the snow is gone. Does anybody have any experience with the BWD Select ignition parts from O'Reilly Auto Parts? I plan on putting in a new coil, cap, rotor, and wires from the BWD Select line with Autolite 25 plugs. Thanks for any feedback.

Some BWD parts are ok. Other ignition parts are trust only the Motorctaft logo. 2 of major importance is the TFI module and the Fender-mounted relay located on the passenger side fender wall. Had good luck with BWD on coil, rotor, cap, and plug wires in past. I'd stick with either motorctaft copper or autolite copper plugs for good measure. Nothing needs to be fancy about plugs. Be sure to keep the coil if you do replace, and I would only do so if it appears to be in good condition, such as electrode for coil wire and that it tests out fine on secondary and primary resistance values. Had 2 MSD coils fail in the last 6 years, so it pays to keep them handy and you could also visit the jy to pick up a spare.
