DED Diesel

1990 7.3 Died at a stop sign. Read a post of gauges not working correctly so I switched to the other tank. Cranked and cranked but it started. Drove for about 40 minutes mostly freeway but last 3 miles thru stop lights. Pulled up to my house and it died. Will not fire. Cranks and cranks. Just bought the truck. Do not know alot about diesels how do I know if its getting diesel? Changed the fuel filter. Is this a manual pump? Not electric? Can i pull a fuel line to see if its getting any? If so which one? Lights for the glow plugs does not come on. Water in fuel flashes when key turned. Not sure what to do now. Filled first tank with 5 gal of new diesel. Can I prime it?

To reprime system fill fuel filter with diesel or atf..... crack all the Injector lines.... 5/8 wrench and loosen the steel lines at Injectors about 1/2 a turn a d crank the motor you should see diesel flowing out of the top of injectors..... switch to tank 1 that you out fuel in..... verify that you have 12v at the fss..... on the ip.... truck has a mechanical fuel pump on side of motor.... like a chevy.... as far as fuel pressure from pump it can be check at the Schrader valve on the filter houseing you should have 5 to7 psi or 1/3 pint in 10 secs of cranking.... the glow plugs dont cycle if the motor is hot .... like start n stop they may not cycle at all... in a normal first start of the day the WTS light will stay on 8 to 10 secs followed by cycling of the glow plugs..... to verify 12v at the fss ... KOEO you should have 12v at the fss or cyclyeing the key you will here a click thats tthe fuel shut off selinoid allowing fuel to pass through the ip....

I am getting fuel to the filter and down to the line on the top of the motor. I guess its the fuel distributor? Havent got a manual yet. I get no fuel past that. i cracked all the lines and get nothing. Is there something wrong with this unit?
