AOD overdrive problem
I just went for about a 200 mile trip today. When I started out the truck shifted just as it always has. As the miles went by the truck started to not shift into overdrive after kicking it down to third without releasing the throttle all the way. Towards the end of the trip it wouldn't shift into overdrive at all.? Any thoughts as to what the problem might be? It still makes the first two shifts just like it always has. Thanks.

That's what I thought too, so as soon as I got home I reset the cable per the instructions in my Chilton manual. I don't think it was off very far because I test drove it on the highway and I still have the problem. ???

AOD overdrive problem
Your problem sounds very similar to the one i experienced in my mustang a year ago. I went on about a 120 mile trip and the slightest bit of acceleration would make the tranny come out of overdrive and the engine would just rev up. When you let off the throttle the tranny would slip and go back into OD. Mine problem turned out to be a snap ring that came loose inside the transmission.
